Below are the questions we are asked most often about our hand-weaving experience. If your question is not answered here, please feel free to contact us.

Joining the Experience

Q1. What is the minimum age? Do children need to be accompanied?

A1. Children aged 6 and above can join. Elementary school children and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Q2. Can I join the experience in English?

A2. Yes. Our staff can guide you in English, and we may also use translation tools for some explanations.

Q3. Can I join as a walk-in without a reservation?

A3. Walk-ins are welcome when we have space. We have 4 looms and take up to 4 guests per session, so we recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred time.

Q4. Can companions who are not weaving stay with us?

A4. Yes. Each group may include up to 6 people in total, counting participants and companions together, with up to one companion for every two participants. Space depends on the day's bookings, so please contact us in advance.

On the Day

Q5. Does the experience finish within the stated time?

A5. The stated duration is a guide. Depending on your weaving pace and the finishing process, it may take slightly longer. Please allow some extra time in your schedule.

Q6. What should I wear or bring? Will I get dirty?

A6. You can come empty-handed. There is no dyeing or messy step involved, so your everyday clothes are fine.

Q7. Can I bring a suitcase or large luggage?

A7. Luggage up to standard carry-on size can be brought into the studio. If you have anything larger, please contact us in advance.

Q8. Can I take photos in the studio and during the experience?

A8. Photography is welcome. Our staff are also happy to take photos for you.

Payment and Access

Q9. What payment methods do you accept?

A9. We accept cash, credit cards and QR code payments. Some payment methods, such as Japanese transit IC cards, cannot be used. If you have a specific method in mind, please contact us in advance.

Q10. Is the studio accessible by wheelchair or with a stroller?

A10. Our studio is on the second floor of the Gion Matsumoto Building and is reached by stairs only, as there is no elevator. Unfortunately, access by wheelchair or stroller is difficult. If stairs are a concern, please contact us in advance.
